Skeptic: Feds' latest global-warming report a 'shill' for funding - Climate Change Dispatch
The National Academy of Sciences (NAS) examined warming that can occur over a period of years, not centuries, adding that the extinction of some species and melting ice in the Arctic Ocean is already occurring. Even so, Marc Morano of Climate Depot is skeptical.

"The organization [NAS] is virtually 100-percent dependent on government funding. So when they do a study like this – and they've done other studies in the past – you know the outcome of these studies before they do them," he argues. "When the president is advocating for a carbon tax, it's not too surprising that all the [government] reports are going to fall in line."

Morano says what shocks him the most about this report is that it "openly shills for more climate funding for its members."

If-By-Warming
We are all of this Earth, and, save for an apocalyptic few, we all want to preserve it. Why, then, have the rational and pragmatic allowed the basic concept of caring for our planet to be hijacked by the functioning contradiction that is the Radical Opportunist?

One part hysteria, one part greed, with a liberal sprinkling of impracticality, the Radical Opportunist is a beast not to be underestimated. They are the crazy ex-girlfriend you don't remember dating. Anything they say can and will be used against you in their court of no appeals. Facts? No need. Opposing views? Who has the time? There is only enough space on their high horse for them to froth at the mouth and tell us all that we are all going to be under water in five...no, ten...wait...fifteen years!
The Great Green Lie: CCS Today Is Not Like Scrubbers in the 1970s (Part II) — MasterResource
The technology is so nascent and expensive that no utility would undertake it absent generous government subsidies. Without these taxpayer handouts, the project would never have broken ground.

Norway’s government is sending $30m of taxpayer funds to buy CDM credits. Lucky UK Taxpayers are tossing in 50 million pounds. IPCC planet-healer Pachauri "was on the board of Toyota"

3 out of 4 top IPCC chairs linked to fossil fuel industry | Informative Stats
And finally, there is Chairman Rajendra K. Pachauri, who holds degrees in economics and engineering. Pachauri has been a Director of the Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Director of Gail India Ltd (largest state-owned natural gas processing and distribution company), Independent Director of Oil and Natural Gas Corp. Ltd, and Independent Director of National Thermal Power Corp (who’ll burn 17 million tons of coal this year). He also founded Glori Energy, a company financed by KPCB (i.e. Al Gore & John Doerr) that recovers oil by injecting CO2 into reservoirs.

So what’s my point? That this is a conspiracy? No – although if I was so inclined, the fact that Pachauri was on the board of Toyota and Lee on the board of Hyundai, the two automotive firms with big investments in Sudan, would set my tin foil hat tingling before I’d even got to Pachauri’s Rockefeller connections.

Warmist Richard Alley blames CO2 for Katrina damage and Arab Spring

An Update on Risks of Abrupt Jolts from Global Warming - NYTimes.com
But, Katrina’s high waters just made it over the levee, and the difference between “just over” and “not quite over” proved to be a lot of billions of dollars and human disruption. The Arab Spring surprised many people, including some who had expertise, and while attribution of such an event to a particular cause is probably impossible, there are people (as written up in The Economist, for example) who link at least some of the causation to food prices, and there in turn people who link at least some of the food-price swings to climate change. It is easy to see such linkages occurring, and strengthening, in a greatly warmed future climate when many of our crops are already grown at temperatures above their optimum.

History falsifies climate alarmist sea level claims | Watts Up With That?
The facts of history are clear. Sea level was 400 feet lower at the end of the Wisconsin Ice Age, 18,000 years ago. Sea levels rose rapidly until 8,000 years ago. As recently as 1066, when the Normans conquered England, sea levels were quite a bit higher than today.

During the Little Ice Age, 1300 to 1850 – when temperatures were the coldest during any time in the past 10,000 years – snow and ice accumulated in Greenland, Antarctica, Europe and glaciers worldwide. As a consequence, sea levels fell so much that important Roman Era and Medieval port cities (like Ephesus, Ostia Antica and Pisa) were left miles from the Mediterranean.

AVERY: Dreading the inevitable global cooling - Washington Times
The darkest chapter for Iberia occurred during the Little Ice Age, after 1300 A.D. Crops again failed repeatedly, people burned “witches” who had supposedly cursed their farms, and the Spanish Inquisition arose to persecute “heretics,” many of them Jews or Muslims who had publicly converted to Christianity. The bubonic plague spread and became known as the Black Death. Ultimately, Christian armies finally conquered Cordoba and the last of the Moors in 1614.

Fortunately, we’ve had no “little ice age” since 1850. Inevitably, however, another one will test our mettle sometime during the coming centuries. We should be happy to be living in a period of relative warmth, and we should not fear the continuation and mild increase of that warmth.

When you count in the time (your time) and frequency of recharging and limited range to go just a couple of hundred miles, even in warm California, it ought to be clear that EVs are not a wise investment, certainly not in colder climes or at this time and, more likely, if ever. Perhaps Tesla’s recent stock price action reflects such recognition.

U.N.'s own population studies soundly repudiate its own so-called global warming studies

Blog: U.N. Repudiates Global Warming
Even the infamous Indian Ocean islands that include the Seychelles, Mauritius, Maldives, and Comoros, whose very existence was said to be threatened by global warming according to 2007 Nobel Peace Prize co-winners Al Gore and Rolph Poyet, are predicted in the 2012 Revision to increase in population by a robust +75.1 percent throughout the 21st century (by contrast, the global population growth rate during the same time period is +56.9 percent, while ex-Africa it is only +13.3 percent). Thus, it is closer to the truth to state that AOSIS thrives during the period of so-called global warming, the exact opposite of what is predicted by the liberal warmist catechism. Thus, the U.N.'s own population studies soundly repudiate its own so-called global warming studies.
