What this shows is that given that IBWO are about the same size as PIWO, there could be a lot of IBWO out there that nobody pays attention to.

But early last century, didn't people routinely drop to their knees and shout "Lord God, what a bird!" whenever they saw an IBWO?

Probably not.

They just dropped to their knees, took aim, then blew the birds' brains out.
