Scientists' views not truly known
Al Gore told the audience at Wayne State University that the view of climate change that he promotes "is accepted by national science academies in every nation of the world."

It is a shame no one ever asks him the most obvious question. How many of these groups showed through appropriate polling that most of their members agree with the organizations' positions?

The answer is zero.
The scientific academy and other group statements are merely the opinions of the groups' executives or special committees appointed by the executive. Scientist members are rarely consulted, so the statements are meaningless.

On many issues, the strongest argument of the left is that there is no argument. This has been the left's party line on the issue of man-made global warming and the calamities they claim will follow. But there are many scientists -- some with Nobel Prizes -- who have repudiated the global warming hysteria.
