On casual Fridays, do Grist employees leave their tinfoil hats at home?: Now they claim that "science" says that to prevent bad weather, we should "cut that steak in half"

Science says: Cut that steak in half to keep the climate in check | Grist

Eric Davidson has no grand plan to turn you into a vegetarian.

But in order for us to avoid catastrophic climate change, this senior scientist and executive director at Woods Hole Research Center says people in developed nations may need to eat half as much meat. Yep – you heard that right.

Let them have the whole steak. And make it a juicy one, lots of fat. They'll die of heart disease 5-10 years earlier (likely from a massive sudden heart attack). a fortune will be saved in old age care and the carbon footprint of the dead person will be much smaller, even allowing for a vegan lifestyle.
