American Thinker: Conservatism's Dilemma: To be or not to be in the GOP
...We have all received letters from the RNC that ask for money to help fight "liberal tax and spend Democrats." Most of us have taken the bait and sent in contributions. Conservatives need to recognize these letters for what they are: a scam.

These letters never mention issues like the global warming hoax, or stopping illegal immigration, or the federal bailouts. They can't. The Republican Party has taken no fixed stand on these issues. In fact, the GOP's presidential candidate supported the liberal position on all of these issues. Conservatives must stop settling for half a loaf from the GOP. And we must insist that the Republican Party recognize that half a loaf is ... half a loaf.
DC Out-Sundancing Sundance
Also like the Sundance Film Fest, several Inaugural events have a green theme. Monday night’s Green Inaugural Ball at the Portrait Gallery, hosted by Al Gore, served organic food and featured videos of workers installing solar panels on large screens near the stage.
The Inauguration: Comments on energy please environmentalists
Greg Schnacke, president of Americans for American Energy, which promotes development of traditional fuels, noted Obama didn’t mention such fuels in his speech.

“Let’s just wait and see what they propose,” he said. “We want to give the new president a chance to learn more about energy.”
