This meeting, organized by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), will review the Programme of Action recommended by the Group on International Aviation and Climate Change (GIACC), which was tasked with creating an aggressive Programme of Action on International Aviation and Climate Change, based on consensus and reflecting the shared vision and strong will of all Contracting States. Participants are to discuss goals and implementation options, proposals for strategies and measures to achieve emissions reductions, and means to measure this progress.

He claimed that farmers would have no choice other than to cull livestock to reduce their on-farm emissions.

"This is the equivalent of New Zealand experiencing a drought lasting several long years," he said. "Is that what New Zealand wants?"

The farmers cannot be expected to do it all themselves. They are providing us with many things we need. It needs to be a coordinated approach to addressing climate change and we all need to be doing our part.
