Partisan "science": Alarmist Susan Solomon is keynote speaker at dinner for Democrats
BOULDER — Boulder County’s Democrats focused on cooling down the planet and heating up the campaign Sunday night at the party’s annual Truman Dinner.
...
Environmental issues were another main theme of the night, both from the officials and from keynote speaker Susan Solomon, an atmospheric scientist at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

...But cutting carbon emissions is going to take more than one answer, she said.

Those answers could include higher-mileage cars, less deforestation, or a vastly increased use of wind, solar or nuclear energy. But, Solomon said, each one of those would only take out one “wedge” of the problem — and it would take about 13 wedges to stabilize things.
Flashback: Susan Solomon compares Diet Pepsi bubbles to nuclear waste
“We have to think about it much more like nuclear waste than, like say, smog or acid rain,” explains one of the world’s top atmospheric scientists, Susan Solomon, Senior Scientist for the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration. Solomon is leading the research team. She adds, “What we’re doing with carbon dioxide is forever.”
