Warmist Jonathan Overpeck thinks Lincoln would have been a big fan of blowing money trying to stop CO2-induced bad weather?

Twitter / TucsonPeck: + Reading more about Lincoln ...
+ Reading more about Lincoln now - his approach to slavery makes me sure he would move on stopping CC because it is moral issue of our time.

  1. I agree with him in that the belief in man made global warming will enslave humanity and it is a huge moral issue of our time. The question is will humanity embrace the morality of Western Civilization, which is selfishness, the morality of freedom that you own your own life. Or will Western Civilization collapse by embracing the morality of sacrifice (net loss) and alturism (other-ism, existing for others).

  3. For a scientist involved in climate research to commit himself so firmly to an ideological position such as this is to undermine his own credibility as a scientist.

Overpeck has made himself into a demogogue and not a very persuasive one. Nobody knows what Lincoln would have thought. And if they did, why would it matter?

The crusade against CO2 is misguided because the unintended consequence of deindustrializaton will be to harm people. The poor will be harmed the most.
