THE HOCKEY SCHTICK: New paper finds warming decreases wind speeds & sunshine hours increase wind speeds
A new paper published in the International Journal of Climatology finds wind speeds in the Tibetan Plateau have decreased with warming since 1980 due to a decrease in the temperature gradient [difference] between adjacent latitudes. Contrary to the claims of climate alarmists, the paper corroborates many other peer-reviewed publications demonstrating that warming leads to decreased wind speeds and fewer cyclones/hurricanes.THE HOCKEY SCHTICK: Global warming made simple: How natural variability explains 20th century global warming without man-made CO2
This paper by Dan Pangburn shows, with simple thermal radiation calculations, how a tiny change in the amount of low-altitude clouds could account for half of the average global temperature change in the 20th century, and what could have caused that tiny cloud change. The paper also finds the other half of the 20th century temperature change is from net average natural ocean oscillation, which is dominated by the Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO).We Are 95% Confident in a Meaningless Statement | Coyote Blog
The IPCC has always adopted words like "main cause" or "substantial cause." They have not even had enough certainly to use the word "majority cause" -- they want to keep it looser than that. If man causes 30% and every other cause is at 10% or less, is man the main cause? No one knows. So that is how we get to the absurd situation where folks are trumpeting being 95% confident in a statement that is purposely vaguely worded -- so vague that the vast majority of people who sign it would likely disagree with one another on exactly what they have agreed to.The balding Arctic | Arctic Sea Ice News and Analysis
