In Bangkok the UN-sponsored climate talks continue. The Secretary-General urged governments to table concrete proposals.

Obama unlikely to sign US climate bill ahead of Copenhagen
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs told reporters later on Friday that Obama would consider attending the climate talks in the Danish capital if heads of state were invited.

"At this point you've got a meeting that's currently set for not necessarily a head of state meeting ... If it got switched, we would certainly look at coming," Reuters quoted him as saying.
