HIDDEN [alleged COSTS of CO2]- the destruction of the future
For a scientist it is hard to observe how each day we fail to twist development towards a low-carbon society, and how the damage to the planet become more severe. Our messages to policy makers are explicit, but the gap between the need for action and the climate policy the world leaders put in place is steadily increasing.Close to 70 percent of the earth's soil in risk of drought

Regarding climate change externalities I think there is a very expensive moral cost, as well. We pay for all of this through taxes, but not only drivers, also those who go by bike or walk. For every 1,000 kilometres driven in the average Slovenian car, for example, we cause about €55 to €75 of external costs, of which the external costs of climate change are between €2 and €19.
Countries around the world need to implement policies to slow desertification. If policies fail, drought could parch close to 70 percent of the planet's soil by 2025, warns the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), Luc Gnacadja.Flashback: BBC NEWS | Are the deserts getting greener?
It has been assumed that global warming would cause an expansion of the world's deserts, but now some scientists are predicting a contrary scenario in which water and life slowly reclaim these arid places.
