CARACAS (Reuters) - Capitalism may be to blame for the lack of life on the planet Mars, Venezuela's socialist President Hugo Chavez said on Tuesday.Flashback: Hugo Chavez gets thunderous ovation in Copenhagen with anti-capitalism remarks - Springfield Menard County Conservative | Examiner.com
"I have always said, heard, that it would not be strange that there had been civilization on Mars, but maybe capitalism arrived there, imperialism arrived and finished off the planet," Chavez said in speech to mark World Water Day.
There is an old proverb that says you can tell a lot about a person by the people they associate with. This has never been more apparent than at the Copenhagen climate summit. There, dictator Hugo Chavez got several standing ovations for attacking capitalism and wealthy nations. During his speech he said, "our revolution seeks to help all people…socialism, the other ghost that is probably wandering around this room, that's the way to save the planet, capitalism is the road to hell....let's fight against capitalism and make it obey us." That comment nearly brought down the house, but what would you expect from a bunch of people who believe in climate change theories that have been fabricated for decades?
