More Fishcrow ravings from yesterday's post to his Winter07 webpage... man, that's fun reading!
"I spoke my mind yesterday about so-called "top birders." I'm going to speak my mind today about ornithologists. I don't give a damn what either group thinks of me. I have the strongest evidence that has been obtained yet for the existence of the ivorybill. If anyone wants to challenge that claim, then go here and try to refute the twenty reasons I have given why the bird in the Pearl video is an ivorybill. I recently found a frame that shows every detail of the left wing, including the white trailing edge, the black leading edge, the black primaries, and the boundary between black and white where the wing is attached to the body. I haven't been able to publish this data, which is stronger than the Arkansas and Florida data. I apparently can't publish in ornithology journals because I'm not one of them. I'm not in their league. I take that as an honor because, in the realm of science, ornithologists are little leaguers."

I'm not in their league.
Just one little gem of lucidity in yet another insane rant
Fishcrow is right in that he is not in the same league as ornithologists. But if he sees them as Little Leaguers then Mr. Collins is playing tee-ball. And apparently an IBWO would have to remain motionless on a tee in front of a TB before a photo is obtained.
But regardless of the league the entire TB group is batting .000 for the last three seasons and the crowd is heading for the exits and most won't even use the universal baseball aphorism "wait until next year".
One place the baseball analogy falls short is with the famous quote from the Tom Hanks character in "A League of Their Own":
"There's no crying in baseball".
Apparently there is frequently crying in IBWO searching. It used to occur when searchers thought they had glimpsed the subject of their "life-long quest". If these people are being honest with themselves, crying is now occurring as they realize the stupidity of their three-year indulgence.
Dear Fishcrow-
1. Why can't you get better video and why can't anyone else (besides certain other wackos) ever see the Pearl IBWOs?
2. You can't get anything published because Cornell, Fitzcrow, Remsencrow, and Hillcrow have ruined it for you with their previous erroneous publications and they have scared-off all the journal editors. Why don't you just write a book like everyone else? You could title it "Ravings from the Swamp Savant."
