TORONTO - The Conservative federal government has defied the will of Parliament by ignoring legislation requiring compliance with the Kyoto Protocol, lawyers said Wednesday as a group of environmental crusaders went to Federal Court in a bid to get more action on climate change.
The proceeding is being billed as the first time a country has been challenged in court for failing to meet commitments to combat global warming.
