Power Authority stops $1.6 billion plans for advanced coal plant

Power Authority stops $1.6 billion plans for advanced coal plant at Tonawanda's Huntley Station : Home : The Buffalo News
The Huntley Station in the Town of Tonawanda won't be getting a $1.6 billion advanced coal power plant.

The project had garnered a wide range of political support locally, spurred by promise of creating 100 new power plant jobs, 1,000 construction jobs and spin-off benefits that NRG said could pump an average of $120 million annually into the local economy over the next 35 years.
