Google helping students to make their voices heard

Writing Our Future: Letters to the Next President
This election season, Google and the National Writing Project invited middle and high school students to make their voices heard by writing letters to the U.S. presidential candidates.

Guided by teachers and mentors, students across the country composed their thoughts on the issues they care about most – everything from gas prices and the economy to education and the war in Iraq.

Thoughts from a Maryland student
The globe's temperature is increasing. The sources are smoke from companies, cars, and green house gases. If this continues, it could melt the Artic and increase the number of endangered species. Also the gases are making holes in the ozone layer. This layer is the only thing keeping the Earth cool. If the green house gases make a large enough hole in the Artic, it could cause a global flood.
