California: Weather blamed for snarled traffic, numerous collisions
A powerful winter storm dumped 2 inches or more of rain across parts of Ventura County on Monday and as much as a foot of snow in the mountains.

The storm snarled traffic and caused numerous collisions, including some with injuries, the Ventura County Sheriff's Department reported Monday.

The weather front, which came down from the Gulf of Alaska, also brought bone-chilling temperatures to much of the county.

The Sunday-Monday overnight low in Camarillo was 32 degrees, a record low, said Stuart Seto, a weather specialist with the National Weather Service in Oxnard.

Greens leader Bob Brown described Kevin Rudd as a “failed prime minister “and said a 15 per cent target was paltry.

“The impact of climate change is real, it’s going to be on our kids, it’s going to be on their kids, and this government’s failing to address the need to shelter them from this impact,” he said.
