With more than 200 inches of snow in southern Jefferson County already, and two more months of winter still to go, the fervid warnings of global warming are starting to sound like good news.

New 'green' ratings slip car buyers'notice
The new “environmental performance” stickers did not have to be placed on existing dealer inventory. Customers should start seeing more global warming scores as new inventory starts arriving about the middle of the month, Stanich said.

Bob Latiano, general sales manager at Mercedes-Benz of Escondido, said a few vehicles have come in with the labels, and there has been “no reaction whatsoever” from his customers. He said the stickers could serve as a sales tool for vehicles with good scores.

Don Bishop, general manager of Escondido Volvo, said he doesn't believe environmental issues top his customers' list of concerns.
