He also trivialized National Weather Service temperature records, quoting a “study” indicating that many stations are located next to air-conditioning vents. One wonders why he did not denounce such naive practices, if real, when he worked for that agency.

Fortunately, temperature trends in urban and rural locations have been studied to adjust for any “urban heat” effect.

Perhaps he reveals his real agenda — a political one — when he exhorts us to avoid spending “anything it takes” on slowing global warming...

So, what do scientists think of the scientific issues under discussion? Although the commentator vaguely alludes to several thousand credible scientists backing the skeptic side, examination of the roster indicates no more than several hundred with any bona fides whatsoever in the field.
