Obama wants your family to shiver in the dark, but his family gets SUVs, a personal trainer, a chef, lots of fossil-fueled air travel, etc?

First Lady Is Creating Role That Reflects Her Passions
She has surrounded herself with familiar faces, starting with her mother, who lives in the White House and takes Malia and Sasha to school every day in an unmarked SUV. Obama begins her day at 5:30 a.m. with another Chicago transplant, Cornell McClellan, who has been her and her husband's personal trainer for 12 years. The family's meals are largely prepared by Chicagoan Sam Kass, a White House assistant chef, who also oversees the organic garden.
...
So now, with school over for the year, Obama has developed a plan that takes her and the girls out of Washington, where she thinks they can have more fun and independence. Sasha and Malia accompanied the first lady to San Francisco on Monday, and next month, they will join their parents on an official presidential trip to Russia, Italy and Ghana. The family is expected to spend more time at Camp David, where they can entertain close friends in privacy.
May '08: Obama camp spies endgame in Oregon
Pitching his message to Oregon's environmentally-conscious voters, Obama called on the United States to "lead by example" on global warming, and develop new technologies at home which could be exported to developing countries.

"We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times ... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK," Obama said.

Once they start making exceptions for certain people to have a larger carbon footprint than other people, "pandora's box" is opened.

It starts with the president: OF COURSE the PRESIDENT can have a larger carbon footprint and private 747s/helicopters and SUVs - he "needs" these things! Then after the president, comes the congressmen - they can't drive in minicars or go by train - they need something better, they can have limousines and jets. Then comes the local politicians, and other "important" people such as Al Gore, eco-celebrities etc., these can still have own cars and take airline flights.
Only the COMMON people will be faced with the "polluter pays" schemes, portraying them as outsiders who "pollute" while supposedly everybody else doesn't "pollute", and suggesting their "pollution" is enriching them so they can be taxed any amount of money for it.
