[Regarding the global warming scam, does *anyone* believe in it strongly enough that they'll consistently avoid unnecessary trips that they really want to take?] - Mom Goes Green
Our greenest travel options would have been to travel by train or rent a hybrid, but definitely not by plane, since the emissions from airplanes are astronomical and have a tremendous effect on global warming! In fact, a one-way flight from New York to Denver produces as much carbon dioxide per passenger as an SUV produces in a month! But since we were driving our own car, we had it maintenanced before our trip (including proper inflation of the tires) and used the cruise to assure maximum fuel efficiency.
STILL No Tropical Storms? Must Be Global Warming « Roy Spencer, Ph. D.
So, where are all of the news stories about the fact we’ve had no tropical storms yet this year? As can be seen in the following graphic, as of this date in 2005 we already had 8 named storms in the Atlantic basin. And tomorrow, August 4, that number will increase to 9. In 2005 we were even told to expect more active hurricane seasons from now on because of global warming.
Australian of the Year is trite | The Daily Telegraph
Take 2007's recipient, Professor Tim Flannery, whose selection was announced by a Howard government that believed it was on the nose because of climate change. That Flannery's environmental predictions were ridiculous - by now we should be seeing Sydneysiders murdering each other for mineral water - did not matter a bit.
Barnaby Joyce targets Labor on 'ridiculous' ETS | The Australian
The Australian revealed yesterday that Mr Roozendaal had written to federal Treasurer Wayne Swan in February to warn that the ETS could lead to "extreme losses" in the electricity and coal industries.

Ms Bligh made similar comments in a letter last month to Assistant Climate Change Minister Greg Combet.

"Both these people were at the Labor Party conference just a couple of days ago sitting alongside the culprits trying to introduce this ridiculous scheme," Senator Joyce said.

The plane was going to Denver anyway, so by driving they ADDED emissions as opposed to flying which would have added no more just because THEY decided to get on the plane. This scam has gotten people's thinking ALL screwed up!
