House energy bill based upon a lie
Another focus of the bill is to establish robust emissions trading much like our European counterparts. But how do you trade something that can’t be quantified? Commodities are traded in physical quantities, as are carbon emissions, but in the case of CO2 these amounts are arbitrary since they are never measured; only estimated. The whole thing is based upon a lie.

A lot more work needs to be performed to determine how dangerous carbon emissions really are. Since Al Gore’s proclamation, some 31,000 scientists signed a petition disagreeing with the former vice president.
[A sparsely attended astroturf event?]: Repower Maine pulls out the stops for climate change bill
Leading the session was Rep. Diane Russell, D-Portland. Russell is a paid staffer for 1Sky, a national group with a mission similar to Repower America. She lamented the state's loss of manufacturing jobs, then outlined how the climate bill could help Maine transition into a "green" economy.
...
Then cell phones were passed around. Callers dialed a Repower hotline that connected to Snowe and Collins' offices. Russell also directed the guests to a pile of 1Sky postcards on the bar, and sheets of paper for writing letters.
...
As the Portland house party broke up, Russell said she was pleased with the result. A political organizer, Russell measures success in outcomes, the number of people contacting the senators, and maybe writing a letter to the editor or talking to a friend. On that night, 11 more people took action for the cause.
TIME for Kids misinforms your children « Climate Sanity
The modern version of the weekly reader, TIME for Kids, published by the same folks who bring you TIME magazine, heralded the news of the very first ships to sail the legendary “Northeast Passage” in an article titled ”An Arctic Passage.” This route links Europe to the Pacific Ocean, while avoiding the much longer route through the Suez canal and Indian Ocean. But the reality is that this route was travelled on a regular basis by the Russians from the 1930s to the 1990s. Read on to see how bogus this propaganda, that was spoon fed to your children, really was.
