Bloomsbury Hot On Climate Title

On the eve of the Frankfurt Book Fair, Bloomsbury has announced that it is moving up the publication schedule of its recently acquired Storms of My Grandchildren: The Truth About the Coming Climate Catastrophe and Our Last Chance to Save Humanity. Written by James Hansen, a leading climatologist and science advisor to Al Gore, Storms “is a page turning story, one that is shocking dire yet tremendously inspiring,” according to Bloomsbury editor Nancy Miller.

As the subtitle suggest, Hansen’s thesis is if the world is to prevent serious environmental disruptions in the not-too-distant future, action must be taken now to curb global warming. Bloomsbury will release the title December 8 to coincide with the Copenhagen Climate Conference that begins December 6. A first printing of 100,000 copies has been set, and Storms will be Bloomsbury’ lead title at Frankfurt.
