In Cascade, the daily low was -2 degrees on Sunday, where the record low for this date used to be 15 degrees set in 1969. In Lewistown, the low was 5 degrees, breaking the previous record low for this date of 18 degrees set in 1969. In Stanford, the thermometer dipped down to 7 degrees, well below the old record low of 15 degrees in 1931.

The low in Great Falls Sunday was 10 degrees, whereas the previous record low was 21 in 1969.

Early snow records set to be broken – Austrian Times
Austria’s provincial capitals are expected to see their earliest snowfalls in history today (Mon) as Arctic air sweeps the country.

Josef Haselhofer from Vienna’s Central Agency for Meteorology and Geodynamics (ZAMG) said today (Mon) Arctic air would probably result in the first snow cover in provincial capitals before 20 October in history and said Innsbruck, Salzburg and St. Pölten were likely to see snow.
