I think the sloppy data handling procedures and lack of responsibility shown by leadership at climate research institutes indicates a lack of adequate supervision and proper protocols. I honestly think that the crew that went after global warming as a scientific issue felt they knew what the answer was and gundecked a lot of the work and felt they didn't have to answer to anyone.

Until we have better confidence in some basic tenets of climate science and more confidence in the people that are doing the work, I think that more ambitious efforts should be put on hold.
