Now the World Needs More Livestock? - Greg Pollowitz - Planet Gore on National Review Online
I guess this UN agency didn't get the memo about the dangers of methane-emitting livestock and the threat they pose to the planet
Harsh winter devastates roads in Poland - UPI.com
WARSAW, Poland, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- Heavy ice and snow have made many of Poland's roads nearly impassable because of large potholes, nationwide media reported Tuesday.
...
Warsaw officials said the road damage is on a par with the brutal winter of 1979. In the southwestern town of Grodkow, one street had 671 potholes in a near half-mile stretch, including some three feet wide and three feet deep, the report said.

Tomorrow's forecast calls for it to be 36 degrees. Just one week ago it was only 9 degrees. That is 27 degrees of global warming in just seven short days. This is an average daily gain in temperature of 3.857 degrees each day.

At this rate, our planet will become not just warm but hot, very, very hot, and soon! I do not want to sound like an alarmist, but in less than 117 days the projected daily temperatures could be 451 degrees. That is the same temperature that paper and wood products ignite and start to burn.

The vast majority of scientists who receive federal grants agree that global warming is real. Stop using plastic shopping bags, turn the tap water off when you brush your teeth and for goodness sake call your congressman and demand that he increase your taxes without delay. We only have until June 17 before we all burst into flames.
Today's Conservatism looks more and more like a toxic cocktail of Tory traditions - David Miliband - The Labour Party
The role of government is not to eradicate markets but mobilise them. The fight against climate change is a good example. Carbon markets will not exist without a powerful role for government. And without carbon markets there will be no efficient reduction in carbon emissions. The plans for feed-in tariffs from April this year will enable citizens and communities to s ell renewable energy back to the grid at guaranteed prices. Alongside this there will be new incentives to install renewable heat and a financing scheme to make home energy insulation more affordable. This is not Government crowding out citizen initiative.
