Bill Gates and Andy Revkin think you're stupid: They both imagine that you're ready to be lectured on energy efficiency by a guy who lives in a 66,000 square foot mansion

Bill Gates on R&D, a Carbon Tax and China's Climate Role - NYTimes.com
We need both a market push (R&D funding) and market pull by having a price on carbon. Pricing carbon emissions would help in many ways. It would encourage increased efficiency, increased deployment, more private R&D and provide funding for government R&D. More efficient use of energy is important. There are a lot of great efficiency approaches like building standards, and Cafe standards that can make a difference.
Bill Gates' house - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The 66,000 sq ft house is noted for its design and the technology it incorporates. It is nicknamed Xanadu 2.0.[1]

In 2009, property taxes were reported to be US $1.063 million on a total assessed value of US$147.5 million.

The house is a modern design in the Pacific lodge style, with classic features such as a large private library with a dome shaped roof and oculus (light well).[3] The house also features an estate-wide server system running Windows and heated floors and driveways. Guests wear pins that upon entrance of a room automatically adjust temperature, music, and lighting based on the guest's preferences, according to the narration in the virtual tour below.

Not surprisingly, the typical monthly electric bill is also expensive — it averages $30000.

Global warming is not a problem because Bill Gates lives in a big house. Is that your point?

No - his point is that Bill Gates is a hypocrite. If he really believes man-made CO2 will kill our grandchildren why doesn't he cut his own CO2 output? - The massive and completely unnecessary CO2 output from his mansion and private jet. Instead he wants poor people to be forced to cut their CO2 thru taxes and higher prices which won't affect him atall. F**king hypocrite.

No his point is that if Gates really believed global warming was manmade he'd shut down his house and junk the jet.

Bill Gates apparently exempts himself from any requirement to reduce CO2 output. The little people are supposed to make the sacrifices when it comes to CO2 reduction while he and the likes of Al Gore live high on the hog.

Is that OK by you, Elmar?

The pointhing is, which should be obvious, that if Gates really thought it was a problem he would not burn more energy in an hour than most burn through in a month. The other point is the gross hypocrisy of the alarmists like like Gates, Gore et. al. They lecture everyone about how we must all go practically to living in caves but it never seems to apply to them. Funny how that always seems to be the case.

No, his point is that Gated like Gore and the rest of the alarmists are hypocrites. If he really cared about "climate change" he would not burn through more energy in an hour than most do in month. They lecture you about how you should be living in a cave, practically, while their so-called carbon footprint is the size of a small country. That, my friend, is hypocrisy on steroids. The fact is climate change is not happening as data indicates and this just another scheme for governmenta to rape and pillage it's people in the form of higher taxes and for the UN to take your wealth and give it to third world countries.
