Freezing rain led to hundreds of accidents across the metro area Saturday night and this morning, the State Patrol said.

More than 60 of the 373 reported crashes in Minnesota involved injuries, the State Patrol reported shortly before 8 a.m. Sunday. Of the accidents, 341 were in the metro area, includiing 137 spinouts off the roads.

Mark Fischbach of MnDOT told KSTP this morning that the rain is causing potentially the worst ice storm that he's seen in his 29 years with the department.
