Hypocrisy meter pegged at the New York Times | Watts Up With That?
The NYT published details in 2005 about US efforts to eavesdrop on Al Qaeda, and is publishing info from the stolen Wikileaks Iraq messages, but they they wouldn’t publish the ClimateGate emails.

Mr. Revkin, your selective bias, and the bias of your newspaper (and your Dot Earth Blog) is screaming loudly for all to hear.
Cancun Climate Conference: What is my carbon footprint? - Telegraph
The first thing most people say to me when I tell them I am in Cancun, a beach resort in Mexico, for a climate change conference is: “What’s the carbon footprint of that then?”

Fair point. So I phoned up carbon offset company JP Morgan Climatecare to find out.
...
The footprint of staying in a hotel in Cancun for two weeks is a further tonne of CO2, bringing my total up 3 tonnes. A huge amount, especially considering the average footprint of a person in Britain is nine tonnes for a whole year.

It has cost me £22.50 to offset this.

“As sea level rises coral reefs grow upwards” | Real Science
Sea level has risen 120 meters in the last 14,000 years. Why aren’t the Maldives underwater?
The Reference Frame: Climate conference is beginning in Cancún
You know, they must really care about the planet if they agree to spend twelve days in this place.
American Thinker: Will The Light Bulb Ban Inspire A Conversion?
Why is the incandescent light bulb ban such a lightning rod for Tea Party-inspired remorse from big government Republicans? Simple: it's a liberty-stealing assault on our privacy and common sense, outrageously expensive, and doesn't solve any of the problems it's intended to fix. That's only for starters. The most egregious feature is that the ban makes fools of the American people who willingly succumb to such nonsense from Washington, DC.

She paid £22.50 for three tonnes of carbon? If she'd planned ahead a few weeks, she could have bought them on the Chicago CCX for US 30¢.

She maybe could, but it's interesting that UK average of 9 tonnes is going to drown us all and yet everyone in the UK could salve their consciences with £67.50 to offset an entire year.

That's £4billion.

Why are we setting aside £20billion per year to 'cope with climate change?
