Brutally cold day strands motorists near Sarnia | detnews.com | The Detroit News
Frigid temperatures continue to wreak havoc today in Michigan, causing the closure of hundreds of schools, delaying flights and stranding motorists nearby in Canada.

The severely cold weather has closed Highway 402 in both directions between the Ontario cities of Sarnia and London, according to Blue Water Bridge Canada.

More than 300 motorists have been stranded on the roadway because of snow squalls and are being evacuated by the Ontario Provincial Police. Police are urging motorists to stay in their vehicles and consider pooling vehicle resources until rescuers can reach their location.
