New study blames 10-year lull in global warming on China coal use, air pollution - Capital Weather Gang - The Washington Post
Watts, Whitehouse and others ignore the main finding of the study – that the small amount of warming that occurred between 1998 and 2008 is completely consistent with the hypothesis that human activities are helping to warm the climate over the longer-term.

The paper by Kaufmann et al. is another exercise in 'hide the decline'. But it's quite reasonable to highlight their admission that the slight upward trend in average temperatures stopped in 1998. Many people haven't noticed yet. In Australia, we've just had our Prime Minister declaiming that "science" proves temperatures and sea levels are steadily rising and will continue to rise.
