Vermont Greens End Up Protesting The Products Of Their Own Desires

In trying to “save the world” from a scientifically unsubstantiated doomsday, they are all ruining Vermont.

I truly do hope that the protesters succeed in stopping future mountain top windparks. If they pull it off, it’ll be what I like to call “One stupidity killing another.” Nowadays you have to take the victories anyway you can.

Expertise: breadth vs depth | Climate Etc.

The challenge regarding “climate expertise” is the extreme complexity of the problem (physical basis, impacts, solution strategies).  It is very difficult for one person to wrap his/her head around the entire thing.  Nevertheless, when one self classifies or is otherwise regarded as a “climate scientist,” there is an expectation that the individual has expertise across the entire domain.

It appears that the Sunday Mail's story on the BBC and the Harrabin/Smith seminars has been pulled - the copy posted at GWPF has been taken down too.

Penn State Expert Shoots Down The Skeptics | Real Science

I feel humiliated. I will never write another story about CO2 causing the ozone hole, claiming that oxidizing carbon does not produce CO2, or claiming that we are still in the Little Ice Age.

I had thought that the Thames was still frozen over – until esteemed experts at Penn State and Berkeley straightened me out.
