"Policy-neutral" IPCC head Pachauri resurfaces

Punjab News - Punjab & Pachauri to jointly save environment
CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Government today inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) to jointly address the issues pertaining to climate change, sustainable development, conservation and optimal use of water and other critical resources, energy conservation and efficiency.

Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the CMO said that the MoU was signed by Principal Secretary Science, Technology & Environment Karan Avtar Singh and Director General Teri Dr. Rajendra K Pachauri in the presence of Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal here at CMO this morning.

Highly appreciating the joint efforts taken by the TERI and the Science Technology, Environment & Non-conventional Energy department in the signing of this historic agreement, Mr. Badal hoped this unique initiative would go a long way in evolving a concrete policy to promote research and development especially in the areas of climate change, renewable energy, energy efficiency, water management, pollution abatement, agriculture, forestry and biotechnology.
