Activists struggle with climate message

"There is no question that one of the challenges of dealing with an issue like climate change is that it is a bit more abstract, a bit more remote in time and space than an urban air pollution problem or a water pollution issue," James Leape, director general of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) told News24.
The WWF and several organisations have been campaigning for concrete action environmental affairs for decades and despite their efforts, there is rising scepticism of climate change, particularly in the US, where several politicians have questioned the science.
The AODP, which was set up earlier this year, wrote to the world’s largest 1,000 funds in July, asking each to provide details of their climate change risk strategies, but so far the response rate has been poor.South Korea picked as HQ of new U.N. Green Climate Fund | Reuters
Less than 2% of these 1,000 funds currently invest in low-carbon assets – compared to 50-60% that invest in high-carbon assets such as energy, transport and agriculture.
So far, there has been no discussion by the fund about how to raise $100 billion, from public and private sources. The fund is now empty and the economies of many developed nations are struggling.I Am Pro Snow | Facebook
