'Atmospheric rivers' with more water than Thames behind floods in UK
London, October 8 (ANI): Giant ribbons of moist air flowing north from the tropics, each of which carry 1,000 times more water than the Thames, are behind the recent floods and wet summers in Britain, scientists believe.

It is safe to say this is an extremely rare event to have it this cold this early. Record cold grips most of the country. Record lows were set in the Texas Panhandle up to Iowa this morning. Hard Freeze warnings extend from the Texas panhandle over to upstate New York for tonight.
