Obama energy team circulates memo to greens on climate - The Hill's E2-Wire
Activists with President Obama’s campaign are trying to dampen criticism from environmentalists who say global warming has been given short shrift in the 2012 presidential race.

An email sent to environmentalists Sunday evening, obtained by The Hill, tallies numerous instances of Obama talking about climate change on the stump.

The compilation notes 15 mentions of climate change spread across a dozen speeches and remarks since July 23. For instance, the memo quotes a blurb from Obama’s speech in Mount Vernon, Iowa, on Oct. 18, when the president attacked Mitt Romney’s call to end a major tax credit for wind power projects.
Antarctic sea ice is increasing — is global warming over? - thestar.com
...“In the Antarctic, there is ice in the centre and as it meets with ocean, currents lift it a bit,” said [Gordon McBean, director of research at the University of Western Ontario’s Centre for Environment and Sustainability]. “It can result in more sea ice.”

Scientists say there is also the issue of depletion of ozone in the stratosphere in the Antarctic, which makes the stratosphere even colder, preventing ice from melting.

But McBean says while the Antarctic is still cooler than the rest of the world, it is also warming up. “Just not as quickly,” he said.

The phenomenon in the Antarctic is not inconsistent with global warming, said McBean. “It was expected . . . it’s a complex situation.”
Will This Be The First Time The Debates Are Silent On Climate Since 1984? | ThinkProgress
In Florida, young people are marching to the debate location to demand that Romney and Obama break their silence. Across the internet, people are covering their profile pictures with duct tape, symbolizing how the men who call themselves leaders have taken away our voice.
Nebraskans for Peace put the Climate First
Climate change was at the top of the agenda at the 2012 Annual Peace Conference, held this weekend in Grand Island.

Nebraskans for Peace is the oldest statewide peace organization in the country, and its members say there is a direct tie between peace and the climate.
