Politics: Romney, luring farmers, raises concerns about future cap-and-trade rules -- 10/10/2012 -- www.eenews.net
Mitt Romney's campaign opened an attack on the Obama administration's climate change policies yesterday by warning farmers that greenhouse gas regulations could hike fuel prices. He also suggested that President Obama might pursue a carbon-pinching cap-and-trade program if he wins the election.
Recent cold spell is a record breaker
The cold even reached down into Texas where 12 stations set new record low temperatures. In Oakdale, Imperial, & Greeley, Nebraska, temperatures plummeted to 15 degrees early Sunday morning, Oct. 7. All three thermometers broke record lows dating back to 1935. In Demopolis Lake, Ala., Sunday's low temperature dropped to 25 degrees. This obliterates the old record low of 40 set back in 1963.

The new version increases warming (or rather decreases cooling) since 1998 by 0.09C, a significant amount for a 13 year time span. Whilst the changes should not affect the trend in future years, they will affect the debate as to whether temperatures have increased in the last decade or so.

For some reason, after 2002, there appears to be corrections of .1 to .2C. Why was the data ok in 1997-2002 and suddenly it was so bad it had to be “corrected”.

...What justifies a .2C adjustment up in 2007? Thats 40% higher!
