Trying to sell a carbon [dioxide hoax scam swindle fraud] tax in a no-new-taxes world - latimes.com
...On top of that, there's the sticker-shock factor. According to one estimate, a $20 carbon tax would drive up the price of gasoline by 20 cents per gallon. The Citizens Climate Lobby's proposal calls for a tax that's almost six times as large by the time it's fully phased in.THE HOCKEY SCHTICK: New paper finds modern sea ice coverage in Canadian Arctic near highest levels of past 150 years
These are the sorts of political hurdles that make the carbon tax such a tough sell, no matter how the revenue is used. Environmentalists respond that the cost in the short term pales in comparison to the cost of climate change in the not-too-distant future if we don't cut our carbon emissions dramatically. So far, however, that's not been a persuasive argument in Washington.
A new paper published in the European Geosciences Union journal Biogeosciences reconstructs sea ice coverage in the Beaufort Sea of the Canadian Arctic over the past 150 years and finds modern sea ice coverage [9.4 months per year] is significantly greater than during the period from ~ 1887-1945 [8.3 months per year]. Figure 4 of the paper shows modern sea ice coverage is amongst the highest levels of the entire 150 year record. The authors find that the reduced sea ice coverage from ~1887-1945 corresponded with reconstructed sea surface temperatures that were up to 3C warmer from 1885-1935 in comparison to the average modern temperature. According to the paper, sea ice coverage was dominated by natural variation from the Pacific Decadal Oscillation [PDO] and Arctic Oscillation [AO].Hottest Year Ever Update | Real Science
NOAA is about to claim that 2012 was the hottest year ever in the US by a wide margin, but their date shows otherwise. If US temperatures average less than -2C for the rest of the year (which is quite likely) – then 1921 will remain the hottest year according to untampered GHCN HCN data.Visualizing The Depravity Of The Climate Liars | Real Science
The press has been bombarding us all year with claims that the Greenland Ice Sheet is melting, and at a record rate – based on a blatantly fraudulent article from NASA that 97% of the ice had “unprecedentedly” melted. The article also said that this unprecedented event happens every 150 years and was right on time.
