Al Gore: Al Jazeera Is ‘Honest-to-Goodness News’
Since leaving the vice presidency in 2001, Gore has been an outspoken environmental activist, warning of a “climate crisis” brought on by what he calls man-made global warming. Recently he blamed Hurricane Sandy on climate change, saying “dirty energy makes dirty weather.”

While Al Jazeera is “honest-to-goodness news,” Gore also said at the SXSW conference that the National Rifle Association is a “complete fraud.”

A state judge on Monday stopped Mayor Michael Bloomberg's administration from banning the sale of large sugary drinks at New York City restaurants and other venues, a major defeat for a mayor who has made public-health initiatives a cornerstone of his tenure.

The city is "enjoined and permanently restrained from implementing or enforcing the new regulations," New York Supreme Court Judge Milton Tingling decided Monday.

The regulations are "fraught with arbitrary and capricious consequences," the judge wrote.
