Warmist John Ashton: Lack of global warming "is surely signalling that the [global warming] theory is strong not weak"; also "the consequences of climate change could still be catastrophic if the climate sensitivity were zero"

John Ashton Speech to the Met Office, April 11, 2013 (PDF)
Is the apparent “hiatus” in the rise of global mean temperature a sign that your theory might be wrong? Or should it make us even more concerned about climate change? Wouldn’t we have more reason to hesitate if the temperature curve just kept rising smoothly? Episodes of this kind are a feature of your models, and this one is surely signalling that the theory is strong not weak. Moreover, the consequences of climate change could still be catastrophic if the climate sensitivity were zero, as the global mean smoothes out local departure.
John Ashton | Who we are | About | E3G
He was the Special Representative for Climate Change to the UK Foreign Secretary from 2006 to 2012. He was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2012 Birthday Honours for services to international climate change.

What a kook.

Even if there was no such thing as co2 induced climate change the consequences of no climate change would still be catastrophic climate change?

Which is another way of saying that day to day weather effects tend to be catastrophic or not, regardless of the activities of we humans.

I'm tempted to take Ashton's talking points and run with them.

If only he wasn't so colossally stupid.
