Boxer rebellion | Gristmill: The environmental news blog | Grist
"America pulled itself out of the Great Depression by mobilizing to fight World War II. Now, in order to break out of this deep recession, we must also mobilize our great nation by rebuilding our infrastructure and by combating global warming," she wrote to Obama. "The good news is these mobilization efforts are consistent with short term job creation and long-term economic prosperity."

Boxer also announced that the EPW committee will be meeting on January 7, the day after the new Congress is sworn in, for a briefing on "Investing in Green Technology as a Strategy for Economic Recovery." Panelists will include New York Times columnist Tom Friedman and John Doerr, a partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers who has invested in companies like Google and Amazon.
From today's Glenn Beck show
GLENN: The cooling in 2008 is equal to 20% of all of the warming of the last 100 years as compared to the rest of this decade. What does that mean? Does it mean anything? Of course not, Holocaust denier! Jeez, what's wrong with you people? The relatively chilly temperatures compared with the recent years are not evidence that global warming is slowing. However, say climate scientists at the Met office, absolutely not, it's not evidence that anything is happening, this according to Dr. Peter Stott, the manager of Understanding and Attributing Climate Change at the Met office Hadley Centre. Manager of Understanding and Attributing Climate Change at the Met office, Hadley Centre, does that even fit on a business card?

GLENN: "The scientists go on to claim that the relatively chilly temperatures compared with recent years are not evidence that global warming is slowing." That's absolutely true. Cooling isn't evidence of warming slowing down. It's evidence of cooling..."

If we weren't attacked on Dec 7,1941, the failures of FDR and his WPA would still be lingering. No point in repeating those failures.

The sad fact is the end point of all gubbermint make work jobs is the same place, the unemployment line.

Obama is doing nothing more than trying to fund his voters, won't work. Clearly he thinks the smart people have too much to lose to fight him, he is wrong.
