Solar plan raided to pay for guzzlers
AUSTRALIA’S renewable energy industry was reeling yesterday after discovering a $520million budget cut to low-emissions technology in the fine print of Julia Gillard’s ‘‘cash-for-clunkers’’ announcement.

Tim Blair has something on this. (Sorry for not bothering with the link.) Apparently the $2,000 rebate is for only two brands of car that the Labor government has been supporting in the past and not for any new car.
