Al Fin Energy: Why Wind Won't Work
Wind energy is unpredictably intermittent -- and thus unreliable. It is also enormously expensive in terms of materials, land, money, and other scarce resources. Big wind will take any problem you are trying to solve -- and make it worse.

It is fine to hold strong opinions. But make sure that they are backed up with something stronger than good intentions.

There is a rich irony here. The rapidly growing use of shale gas in the U.S. has also driven down carbon-dioxide emissions by replacing coal in the generation of electricity. So the two technologies most reliably and stridently opposed by the environmental movement — genetic modification and fracking — have been the two technologies that most reliably cut carbon emissions.
