Democrat Pomeroy won't vote for the Obama climate hoax bill: The Dickinson Press | Dickinson, North Dakota
Rep. Earl Pomeroy, D-N.D., says he cannot support the climate change bill in Congress.Obama Presses Climate [Fraud] Bill as House Vote Looks Tight - WSJ.com
The House is expected to vote on it by the end of the week. It includes a so-called "cap-and-trade" provision aimed at limiting greenhouse gas emissions.
Pomeroy says changes made in the bill to benefit farmers are not enough to keep him from voting no. He says the bill would hurt rural cooperatives that get power from coal, and says its emission targets are unrealistic because the technology has not yet been invented to meet them.
"I know this is going to be a close vote, in part because of the misinformation that's out there that suggests there's somehow a contradiction between investing in clean energy and our economic growth," Mr. Obama said Thursday in brief remarks from the Rose Garden.Transcript of Today's Speaker Pelosi Press Conference - MarketWatch
A number of Democrats are on the fence. The party holds 256 seats and need 218 votes to pass the legislation Friday. Democratic aides not related to leadership offices said an official leadership whip count earlier Thursday showed the bill was short 30 to 40 votes, putting its fate in jeopardy. Many of those weren't hard "no" votes, but undecided.
Q: Madam Speaker, you called former President Gore last night to cancel his trip to the Caucus this afternoon. Could you explain to us why you did that? And is that a sign of your growing confidence in your capacity to sway folks or decreasing confidence?
Speaker Pelosi. Well, it's a question of what was energy efficient for the Vice President. We were narrowing the list of the undecideds and thought that perhaps another occasion we could call upon his time to come here and be, as I say, more energy efficient for us to coordinate our efforts from Tennessee for him and Washington, D.C. for us because we, as I say, we had a great narrowing of the undecideds yesterday.
Q: Madam Speaker, you bridge all of these geographical and philosophical differences that you talk about within the Democratic Caucus for the climate bill. Are you still satisfied that what you wound up with that's going to the floor is the best you could have done for the environment, for carbon load in the environment, and for global warming?
Speaker Pelosi. I'm very proud of the legislation that we have...

Isn't this a nice preview of the bright future we face with these people in power? All aspects of our lives will have to be scrutinized and the "energy efficiency" of what we do will become more important than WHAT it is we do. "Al Gore has to stay at home to be more energy efficient" eco-nanny Pelosi at work.
