ClimateDepot's Morano: Global Warming Already Dead, ClimateGate 'Withheld Embalming Fluid'
Morano made a moral argument for remaining vigilant against global warming alarmism. He explained that the efforts to potentially change the entire global economy predicated on eco-fraud could set many emerging nations back just as they are developing modern amenities taken for granted in the United States and other industrialized nations.

“Carbon-based economies are one of the greatest liberators of mankind in the history of our planet,” Morano explained. “Let’s not demonize CO2 – it’s not pollution. Let’s laugh at [Sen.] Barbara Boxer the next time she claims it is pollution. Life used to be nasty, brutish and short and still is for 1.6 billion people without running water and electricity. They need carbon-based energy.”
Climate sceptics are recycled critics of controls on tobacco and acid rain | Jeffrey Sachs | Environment | guardian.co.uk
The fact is that the critics — who are few in number but aggressive in their attacks — are deploying tactics that they have honed for more than 25 years. During their long campaign, they have greatly exaggerated scientific disagreements in order to stop action on climate change, with special interests like Exxon Mobil footing the bill.
...
Today's campaigners against action on climate change are in many cases backed by the same lobbies, individuals, and organisations that sided with the tobacco industry to discredit the science linking smoking and lung cancer. Later, they fought the scientific evidence that sulphur oxides from coal-fired power plants were causing "acid rain." Then, when it was discovered that certain chemicals called chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) were causing the depletion of ozone in the atmosphere, the same groups launched a nasty campaign to discredit that science, too.

Die Klimazwiebel: The Hockey Stick Illusion
The story I take away from this book is the resistance of Michael Mann to have his original papers (MBH98 and MBH99) scrutinized by McItyre and others. It poses the immediate question of how these papers could have passed peer review initially when no one could replicate the results based on the initial information contained in the published papers (or based on later additionally material that was later released reluctantly). Instead, there was a counter attack calling McIntyre incompetent. This line of rhetoric seems to reappear at every turn of events, we have seen it in the emails, and we have seen it on this blog many times. This rhetoric can no longer be taken at face value by anyone who reads the book.
Climate turning against kooky alarmists :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Steve Huntley
The Democrats' cap-and-trade legislation, with its onerous impact on America's industrial heartland, is all but dead in the U.S. Senate. Rather than focus the nation's energy policy on ending our dependence on oil from hostile parts of the world, President Obama threw the dice on man-made climate change and lost.

Maybe he would have had a better chance if the climate scientists hadn't been so ideological and sloppy.
