Metro Vancouver's cold snap could break record today
VANCOUVER — Vancouver's overnight temperature dipped to a chilly -9.5 C this morning, falling short of the record low -12.9 set in 1985.

But this morning's temperature did represent the second coldest morning low since records began in 1985, said meteorologist Mark Madryga.

And at least one record could fall today. This afternoon's maximum temperature is only expected to reach -3 C, which could eclipse the all-time coldest maximum for Nov. 23 in Vancouver, a frosty -1.9 C set in 1985.
