On tap Monday II: Liberal, green groups weigh in on climate funding

Two advocacy groups with ties to prominent Democrats will make the case Monday that the U.S. should be the leading player in international climate change finance.

The Center for American Progress and the Alliance for Climate Protection will release a report titled “U.S. Role in International Climate Finance: A Blueprint for Near-Term Leadership.”
...John Podesta, who was former President Clinton’s chief of staff, founded the Center for American Progress. Al Gore, Clinton’s vice president, launched the Alliance for Climate Protection.

Democratic legislation to extend Bush-era tax cuts for the middle class – but let them lapse for the wealthy – was defeated in the Senate Saturday.

The problem for ethanol industry and renewable electricity advocates is that extensions of key incentive programs are tethered to the measure.

Bozeman experienced the coolest November since 2000. A record low of 19 below was recorded on Nov. 24, and single-digit high temperatures on the 23rd and 24th also were the lowest ever on those dates. In order to find a temperature as cold as 19 below in November at MSU, I had to go back to 1959, when the all-time record of 26 below occurred.
