Let me make quite clear from the very beginning. I do love our natural environment at least as much as anyone else. And in my many visits in China, I have seen how pollution affects people’s everyday lives.

But I cannot help but be concerned about government policies that waste taxpayer money in dubious alternative energy projects.

Srinagar, Oct 16: Signaling an early winter this season, upper regions in Kashmir valley received snowfall while as mild rains lashed plains on Tuesday, bringing down the temperatures.

This early sign of winter has created apprehensions among valley’s fruit growers and farmers with both believing that the early rainfall coupled with cold conditions is harmful for the crop and fruit production.
