May, 2006 - The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service recently announced a $71,269 Private Stewardship Grant to The Nature Conservancy “to treat 350 acres of private lands to enhance foraging opportunities for the ivory-billed woodpecker.”

The Twilight Zone is a reality; let's spend environmental tax money to kill trees in order to attract birds that don't exist.
Yes, for the first time as far as I am concerned, this has passed from stupidity to fraud.
I don't like it because that $75000 is probably going for Roundup.

(it just takes 2-3 years for the larvae population in a killed tree to be optimal for IBWOs)

Yay! The Nature Conservancy gets more land! Wasn't it the Nature Conservancy that was busted for buying land for "conservation purposes" and then sold off select lots to board members?
