OK. I just a have a few comments, maybe thay are more like comments...
So Sparling says he saw a PIWO, until he is done talking to Gallagher and Harrison. Then, that baby is an IBWO!
And "BubbianTim" can see the veining of the feathers, the degree of the pitch of white in the wings, and never see the FREAKIN BILL? That is a real problem.
Methinks this story gets rattier and rattier every time I hear it.
Thank you, Tom, for posting that. I ended up crying just like they did, just from reading the account. Bobby and Tim would be my heroes on this if it weren't for the eminent Dr. Fitzpatrick already claiming that spot in my heart.
I don't see how anyone can be a Skeptic after reading that account.
The 15 minutes of fame surely is running out for Professor Harrison.
The anonymous who chastised Professor Jackson makes some excellent points. Maybe it is time for Jackson to put up or shut up. Hold a press conference. You can't have it both ways, "I'm not sure that the bird is extinct but there's really no evidence to prove it's existence but the habitat is getting better, blah, blah, blah."
I’ve seen white and I’ve see black But I’ve never seen black like that What of the bill you ask? Well that was not my task I was told to look for white But if you look at a bird in flight Even white as white as snow Does not reach out and say hello Like a good ol’ black as black as that
Will you forget the bill for heaven’s sake! To look for that would have been a mistake Do you forget what Fishcrow said most shrill? “A black blob is consistent with Ivory Bill” So if white on Ivory Bills is just routine Look instead for the blackest black I have ever seen

This observation by Bobby deserves further comment, and perhaps inclusion in a future IBWO poem or song verse:
"The bird was black, the blackest black I had ever seen."
Hail to thee, brief sighting!
Bird thou never wert.
I’ve seen white and I’ve see black
But I’ve never seen black like that
What of the bill you ask?
Well that was not my task
I was told to look for white
But if you look at a bird in flight
Even white as white as snow
Does not reach out and say hello
Like a good ol’ black
as black as that
Will you forget the bill for heaven’s sake!
